When I was in highschool I began keeping a diary. Primarily to record my accomplishments on the tennis court and what I was feeling during my matches.
I continued to keep a diary through college and I could not be happier to have that time documented. It’s so fun to look back and read about my studies, my friends and travels.
Recently, my husband and I created a jar of all the places we want to travel. We write our dream vacation spots down on a little piece of paper (blue paper for an expensive trip, yellow for a weekend trip, and pink for a moderate trip.)
When it comes time to pick out a vacation spot we alternate who gets to pick from the jar. It is a nice way to compromise as well as document and make sure we have all the places we want to go in one place.

Compendium’s inspiring diaries and notebooks are perfect for capturing daily hopes, dreams, ideas, poetry, music or accomplishments-and make great gifts. My favorites are below.
Dream Every Day Journal - Where do you want to go? What do you want to become? Dream with your eyes wide open—and pen in hand. Take note of your fondest wishes, and map your plan for turning them into reality. This is the ideal place to write the story of your future.
Enjoy Every Day Journal - Seize the opportunity, the day, the moment. Treasure the little things. Life is an adventure, so enjoy the journey. And don’t forget to pack this colorful, travel-sized journal to chronicle the joys that every day brings. It’s dotted with quotations as reminders why we live, love, laugh—and write about it all.
All journals are hardcover with glued belly band, 4 ¾” wide x 6 ¼” high, 224 pages, one color, one quote per spread. $9.95.
It is never too late to begin documenting your life. Journals and diaries are a great way to pass your life down to the next generation.

Ashley
