BHLDN – Houston

I have been meaning to feature the one and only Houston BHLDN. I have been in several times, but never with my camera. Today, my friend JJ and I went in to snoop around and I was able to snap many great photos. JJ recommended that I add a new category to my blog called Mobile Snob. She is a creative type like me and her suggestion made perfect sense. I am always trotting around exploring new places and this post is a great way to start the Mobile Snob series.

I have to say the store is absolutely beautiful, one word — breathtaking. From the woodwork, flooring, angel wing ceiling mounts and vivid colors, to the clean very open concept, no detail is unturned. It is truly a place that you could go and just sit all day and feel so comfortable. Plus all the gals working in the store are super sweet and very helpful.

To me, BHLDN is not just for the bride, it’s for the modern woman looking for amazing, unique pieces to wear to a party!

About BHLDN

An understated word with significant meaning charmed them. And so began, BHLDN. Inspired by the Dutch word for “to keep,” as well as countless tales from family and friends of the extraordinary weddings they’d been part of, they began dreaming up something new.

Their roots are with Anthropologie, so a passion for experience and creating one-of-a-kind moments runs deep. But their offering speaks more to the not-so-everyday occasions—theirs is a voice that celebrates a woman’s most anticipated milestones. And one that gives tradition a twist.

They want, more than anything, to help a woman create an event that reflects her own unique perspective… to a tee. They want to give a bride that edit she’s been searching for—with heirloom-quality wedding gowns, artisanal hair adornments, footwear, and lingerie. And they want happy bridesmaids—in mix-and-match frocks with rich hues and unexpected details.

But it goes beyond the dress. Their goal, and the reason they drape, fold, bustle, and stitch, is to start a conversation with their customer—to build a resource where she can come to find inspiration and to share with those closest to her, as well as our broader coterie. BHLDN’s story is unfolding; and they always look to their customers for cues and guidance going forward.

There are no check boxes. No fill-in-the-blanks. On the contrary, they think a moment should be as layered and dimensional as the woman standing within it. Be you. Be loved. BHLDN.

Next store is due to open in Chicago on Valentines Day 2012!

Enjoy!
PS

This post is dedicated to Courtney, we did not get over there for a visit when you were here so pictures are the next best thing! Happy Engagement!
