Just in from our resident mom – Amy Berlin Opsal. We are so excited to have her back.
First, we all know that baby’s have sensitive skin. Izzi is no exception. We have tried many products, and found several we love. One you may not know about, however, is the Sweet Knee line. Sweet Knee is a family-run skin care company that uses certified organic herbs and flowers for young babies and children. The Rubbit Oil is our favorite. Start with the feet and work toward the heart. Confession: I have used it on my skin too. The comforting scent drew me in.
Then there is the washcloth triple pack by Little Twig, a company that is focused not only on children, but also on community, environment and responsibility. Their products also include bath and body care, bubble fun, travel and gift sets, suncare and accessories.
Now Izzi’s not a fan of leaving the tub, but once she has said “Bye Bye” to the water, we wrap her up in our Organic Circles Natural Matelasse Hooded towel by Dwell Studio. While ivory isn’t necessarily the most practical color for children, kids are generally clean coming out of the bath and we are suckers for simple, understated design.
Dry baby. Fresh diaper. Plenty of Rubbit Oil. Brush teeth. Now, time for PJs. My favorites are the Books to Bed line. The company has taken favorite bedtime stories and made pajamas to match. We own the Guess How Much I Love You set, which comes in pink or blue. But there’s also Pinkalicious, Don’t Let Pigeon Drive the Bus!, and others.
Now, we just need Bunny. Some kids have pacifiers. Some use their thumb. Izzi chose Bunny (or maybe Bunny chose her), a Buddy Blanket by Bunnies by the Bay which now goes everywhere with us. Fortunately you can buy a Hare & a Spare, so you are never without one. Say our prayers, kiss goodnight, then it’s off to Land of the Yawn Yawns.
Good night, and good luck.
